My main area of research is in ethics, with an emphasis on moral psychology. My current research concentrates on weakness of will and the moral significance of self-knowledge. I also have a research interest in drugs and addiction, biomedical ethics, and in the philosophy of sport.
I teach undergraduate courses on moral philosophy, social and political philosophy, the philosophy of law, the philosophy of art, and the philosophy of sport. My graduate teaching focuses on moral psychology.
I’m a member of the University of Waterloo’s Clinical Research Ethics Board and the Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology.
